The Contra Costa Taxpayers Association (CoCoTax) invites you to attend a LUNCHEON Board /Members Meeting at Denny’s Restaurant 1313 Willow Pass Road, Concord, on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11:45 am. Please register in advance on the CoCoTax website where you can pay ONLINE, or bring cash or check on Friday and pay at the door-$25 for members, $30 for guests.

Power your home for the same or less than PGE charges, while using greener energy? Sound like a real win-win and that's the promise of Marin Clean Energy (MCE) which serves most of Contra Costa County.

But, as our counterparts at Marin's Coalition of Sensible Taxpayers (CO$T) have learned, MCE has serious problems of its own. To educate us about the problems at Marin Clean Energy and what we do about them, we have invited CO$T Director Kingston Cole to speak to our January meeting.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Kingston Cole has owned and managed his own telecom consulting firm since 1989, specializing in creating revenue streams for large government agencies with dedicated rights-of-way that can be developed with fiber optic systems or cell towers. Cities, departments of transportation, states and most of the largest transit agencies have been clients. During the 1970’s Mr. Cole was employed as a political and campaign consultant by various elected officials, including the Speaker of the California Assembly, Willie L. Brown and U. S. Senator Dianne Feinstein. He then worked for AT&T for almost a decade primarily in antitrust, regulatory activities and executive support. Currently, Kingston Cole is a three year member of two citizens’ oversight committees: the Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority (past chair) and the Transportation Authority of Marin. Mr. Cole is a graduate of Georgetown University’s Foreign Service School and Creighton University’s School of Law. He and his family reside in San Rafael, CA.
