Dan Romero Hercules Council
A 33 year resident of Hercules, and 47 year resident of West Contra Costa, Dan Romero was elected to Hercules City Council June, 2011 during a recall that removed three Hercules Councilmembers, two that were ten year members. Three times Mayor, Three times Chair of West Contra Costa Integrated Waste Management Authority; Dan has been an 11 year member of the Pinole/Hercules Wastewater Committee and Hercules Liaison to Capitol Corridor Commission.
Always for No nonsense government, No waste of public funds and a Citizen Watchdog, coined by EastBay Times ie Contra Costa Times, as the Gadfly of Hercules, due to not going away when there was corruption in Hercules. Elected in 2011 during a special election, he became a Councilmember to change the culture of deceptive politics in Hercules. Serving with six different Councils and working together with four different City Managers, he has been honored to be Mayor three times.
Hercules has risen from near financial collapse to a promising future of growth and fiscal responsibility under his leadership. Hercules will have Solar panels at City Hall and Community Center to provide solar power for our facilities, new commercial facilities along San Pablo Ave with Safeway Center and a future Sycamore Crossings site, new hotel at Sycamore Crossings, and Self-Storage facility along Willow Ave. the city has a new Hilltown community and a Capital Corridor Train Station along the Waterfront surrounded by the Ledcor Waterfront housing project.
Dan believes in Open Government and believes that Hercules City business should always be discussed in open sessions and not behind closed doors and that Hercules residents should always be part of the process.
