Former California Assemblymember Joe Nation is a Professor of the Practice of Public Policy at Stanford, the Director of the Graduate Public Policy Practicum, and the Grossman-Kennedy Fellow in Human Biology. He serves as Project Director for Pension Tracker, and teaches climate change policy, health care policy, and public policy. He also consults on a variety of public policy topics.

Pension Tracker provides detailed information about the financial status of California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) member agencies, California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) member agencies, and independent employer agencies in California's counties, cities, and special districts.
