Our speaker will be WILL NELSON, Principal Planner, with the Contra Costa County, Department of Conservation and Development. Will has spent 14 years with the County in its Current Planning Section, working on projects ranging from residential additions to refinery and windfarm expansions.
Since 2015, Will has managed the county ‘s Advance Planning Section. He is the project manager for Envision Contra Costa 2040, which is the update of the County’s General Plan, and Zoning code and Climate Action Plan. Will deals with issues pertaining to the changes in the housing element and statewide zoning density laws and addressing climate action plans. These and other plans will serve as the basis for planning and infrastructure related decisions to be made by the County over the next 20 years.
Will graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design with a Planning Emphasis. This is a presentation you will want to hear.
