CoCoTax Lunch Meeting with Guest Speaker Ben Granholm

Ben Granholm, Account Executive of Swing Strategies will be our guest speaker for our CoCoTax noon meeting at Dennys, 1313 Willow Pass Road, Concord CA on September 22, 2023 at Noon.  As we head into the November 2024 General Election the race for Ballot Measures is heating up. Ben brings a strong work ethic, team mentality and extensive knowledge of California public policy, the 2024 propositions and the status of those Ballot Initiatives, and the building of strategic partnerships, crafting diverse, bipartisan coalitions for statewide ballot measures and public affairs campaigns.

Born and raised in Northern California, Ben was involved with 4-H and FFA programs. His passion for the agriculture industry led him to attend California State University, Fresno where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Education, with an emphasis in Agriculture Business. He also holds a Certificate in Applied Public Policy and Government from California State University, Sacramento.  Ben began working in public policy in 2015 as a Senate Fellow for Senator Andy Vidak, representing Fresno, Kings, Kern and Tulare Counties.

More recently, Ben served as the Regulatory Affairs Specialist for the Western Propane Gas Association (WPGA), representing propane marketers, retailers, and producers. Ben regularly worked with the California Air Resources Board, California Energy Commission, local Air Districts and City Councils advocating for clean and affordable energy, diversity and resiliency.

Ben brings his wide experiences to Swing Strategies as an Account Executive. In his capacity with Swing Strategies, following the Taxpayer’s Protection and Government Accountability Act eligible for the ballot and the campaigns. In his presentation he will also cover the status of other statewide ballot measures being proposed in the State Legislature or out for signatures. With the statewide preemption of llocal control, governments taking positions on ballot measures and the CA Attorney General’s power to name the Ballot measures and write the descriptions, this could be an election in which all Californians may lose big.
