Weir to Executive Director
Contra Costa Taxpayers Association announced the engagement of Jack Weir as Executive Director. Weir currently serves as President of CoCoTax and will remain in that position.
A taxpayer advocate for over 25 years, Weir founded the Pleasant Hill Taxpayers Association.
Weir will continue to focus on 2016 ballot measures, as well as other county issues.
CoCoTax has worked since 1937 to promote "Good government at affordable cost."
Jack Weir Elected as President
The Contra Costa Taxpayers Association announces the election of Jack Weir as president for 2015/2016. CoCoTax has advocated for good government at affordable cost to taxpayers in the county for over 75 years, taking positions on tax measures and educating voters on issues.
Weir is a long-time taxpayer activist, serving on three local school bond oversight committees, including the community college, Mt. Diablo and John Swett districts, overseeing over one billion in school bonds. Weir is a former board member of the California League of Bond Oversight Committees (CaLBOC).
Weir is a former Pleasant Hill city councilman, and former director of the County Connection transit agency. A decorated US Army veteran, Weir is co-founder of the Contra Costa County Veterans Employment Committee, and is a member of American Legion Post 178.
