Blackhawk Republican Women's Meeting featuring Jack Weir

How the current & future fiscal state of California impacts us & how to manage through it.

Jack Weir is a long-time taxpayer advocate, retired Bell executive and organizational consultant. He has served on three school district bond oversight committees and is a former board member of the California League of Bond Oversight Committees. He has also served as a director of the County Connection transit agency and as a Pleasant Hill City Councilman.

He carries into his Presidency of the Contra Costa Taxpayers Association the same principles that he held throughout his long public service, namely, that:

  • We only need government to provide those services we cannot do for ourselves
  • Government exists to serve us, not vice versa
  • Government, at all levels, must live within its means, just as our families must do
  • Direct and indirect taxes (of all kinds) now constitute the largest segment of working families’ budgets. This is wrong and unsustainable.

Founded in 1937, the Contra Costa County Taxpayers Association leads the way in providing fiscal oversight of local government. It actively resists unwarranted taxes and fees, discriminatory regulations, ill-advised public expenditures and government secrecy, inefficiency and waste. Its mis- sion is to promote good government at an affordable cost. Educating the public about tax issues is another goal. CoCo Tax is Fighting for Good Government at Affordable Cost in Contra Costa!
